About the Program

The Signet Award Program is a comprehensive, points-based recognition and engagement initiative jointly sponsored by the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Florida and the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Florida. The program is designed to encourage active participation, leadership, mentorship, education, ritual proficiency, fellowship, and service throughout the York Rite experience.

Inspired in part by the Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction’s “Double Eagle Award” program, the Signet Program recognizes that meaningful Masonic involvement takes many forms. Rather than prescribing a single path, the program allows each Companion to “choose his own path” through the fraternity based upon his interests, talents, and goals.

Some Companions may focus on ritual work and degree participation. Others may pursue Masonic education, mentorship, charitable support, committee work, leadership service, or fellowship activities. The program is intentionally structured to recognize the many different ways a Companion may contribute meaningfully to the Craft.

Activities are organized into four primary categories:

  • Fraternal / Educational Activities
  • Blue Lodge Activities
  • Chapter Activities
  • Council Activities

Companions earn points by participating in qualifying activities such as:

  • Attending meetings, convocations, and assemblies
  • Participating in or conferring degrees
  • Serving as an officer or committee member
  • Delivering educational presentations or completing study courses
  • Mentoring candidates or Masonic youth
  • Supporting charitable and philanthropic initiatives
  • Earning ritual proficiency certifications

As points accumulate, Companions advance through a structured progression system marked by stones, jewels, ribbon distinctions, and eventually additional pin devices. The program is intentionally designed as a long-term journey of sustained participation and personal growth rather than a short-term achievement program. An active York Rite Mason may take approximately five to seven years—or longer—to complete the progression through the Gold Ribbon level.

The Signet Jewel itself symbolizes personal growth, transformation, and advancement within the Craft. The progression of stones and ribbon colors reflects the Companion’s continued development through leadership, learning, fellowship, ritual excellence, and service.

Since its launch, the program has seen strong participation and engagement throughout Florida. In its first year alone, Companions recorded thousands of activities across Blue Lodge, Chapter, Council, and educational participation, demonstrating the program’s success in encouraging active, well-rounded Masonic involvement.

Whether your interests lie in ritual, education, leadership, service, mentorship, or fellowship, the Signet Award Program offers a meaningful framework to recognize your journey and contributions within the York Rite.
